More than ten years on, KEVIN IN THE WOODS remains driven by the same idea: to bring modern functional clothing into everyday life.
Having returned to skiing after a longer break and spending more time in the mountains here in Switzerland, we encountered a new generation of technical apparel. Lightweight, highly engineered, and increasingly refined in design, it changed our perspective on clothing.
Innovations in fabrics and construction have fundamentally redefined what garments can do – how they move, feel, perform and how long they last. Lighter, more comfortable, and highly versatile, these pieces adapt seamlessly to different situations while offering weather protection, breathability, quick-drying properties or temperature regulation.
At the same time fashion today is increasingly influenced by technical fabrics, sportswear elements, utility details, modular layering, and refined minimalism.
But back in the city, this combination was somehow missing. Fashion lacked performance. Functional apparel often felt out of place – too loud, too specialised, or too visually coded for everyday wear.
Looking closer, we discovered a growing number of brands in this field, but they were hard to find, scattered across different continents and stores and not showcased in one place.
So we were absolutely fascinated to create such a space: KEVIN IN THE WOODS, a modern boutique where functional clothing and design come together naturally.
Today we curate the best brands in the market, both established and emerging, which combine innovative fabrics, uncompromising quality, and contemporary design, shaping a wardrobe that is functional, fashion-forward, and easy to wear.
You'll find a wide selection of styles – often hybrid – for everyday wear, travelling, hiking, spending your days active and outdoors. For men and women who value both: functional performance and a strong design aesthetic. Our collection ranges from clean and minimal to sporty-elegant and more progressive styles, often with a subtle sportive touch and a sense of being slightly ahead of the moment.
All this in Zurich, our home town, a city shaped by proximity, where urban life and nature, work and leisure, travel and everyday routines exist side by side. A natural setting for our approach. This is also reflected in our store: open, relaxed, and personal – a place to spend time, explore, and feel comfortable. Like coming to friends.
