nanamica
House of the seven seas
NANAMICA has been an important part of our journey from the very beginning. It is one of those rare brands where function doesn’t compete with aesthetics – it quietly defines them. With a calm, grounded palette of navy, beige, and olive, and a focus on reduction, NANAMICA stands for fewer, better pieces that move effortlessly across contexts, seasons and environments.
Founded in 2003 in Tokyo by Eiichiro Homma, who is considered as a pioneer of functional fashion design, the brand – meaning “house of the seven seas” – is rooted in the idea of travel as a way of living. Eiichiro's philosophy is based on the fusion of “utility” and “sports” – a balance of function and style. He uses innovative materials such as GORE-TEX®, CORDURA®, and PERTEX® to infuse classic garments with cutting-edge technology. His approach has had a significant influence on the “urban outdoor wear” genre and has made him a key figure in the Asian and global street and outdoor fashion segments.
Drawing from classic menswear, military, and outdoor gear, NANAMICA creates a wardrobe that feels both familiar and forward. Defined by a distinctly Japanese approach, the design is refined and purposeful. Clean silhouettes conceal technical depth – from GORE-TEX outerwear with a tailored feel to everyday pieces elevated through performance fabrics and thoughtful construction.
